When are you open?
We are open from Tuesday evenings through to Sunday lunchtimes – and closed on Sunday evenings, all day on Monday, and Tuesday lunchtimes.

Monday: closed
Tuesday: 6.30pm onwards
Wednesday: 12pm-2pm, 6.30pm onwards
Thursday: 12pm-2pm, 6.30pm onwards
Friday: 12pm-2pm, 6.30pm onwards
Saturday: 12pm-2pm, 6.30pm onwards
Sunday: 12pm-3pm

Do I need to book a table?
Reservation is recommended to avoid disappointment: however, it's always worth contacting us to check the length of the waiting list. We currently advise making a reservation at least two weeks in advance for weekend bookings.

Do you cater for groups?
We're happy to welcome tables of up to eight diners on our à la carte and tasting menus: larger parties should contact our front of house team to discuss their visit.

What menus are available?
We offer four different menus at the Hole in the Wall:
Our set lunch menu is available Wednesday to Saturday
Our à la carte menu is available in the evenings from Tuesday to Friday
The tasting menu is available on Saturday nights only
And finally, our multi-award-winning Sunday lunch is (somewhat unsurprisingly) available Sundays only.

Can I see an example menu?
Yes! Sample menus are available here. Please note these are subject to change on a daily basis and as such, are purely illustrations of the style of food we serve at the Hole in the Wall. For precise information, please contact the front of house team.

Do you cater for dietary intolerances?
Yes: we regularly create dishes (and even entire tasting menus) designed around specific dietary requirements – the more notice you're able to give us, the better! Please note that we cook with nuts/gluten etc in our kitchen so we cannot state that our food is free of specific allergens. For more information on this, please contact our front of house team.

Do you have a dress code?
No: we pride ourselves on offering relaxed fine-dining. Please come as you are.

Can I park my car at The Hole in the Wall?
Ample parking is available in our two car parks to the front and rear of the restaurant. If you're unable to resist our wine list, you are welcome to leave your car overnight at your own risk.

Are children welcome?
Yes, children are very welcome to join you for your meal, though we don't have a dedicated children's menu. If your youngsters are selective eaters, please let us know when making your reservation and our chefs may be able to adjust the dishes.

Can I bring my dog? 
Dogs are very welcome in our bar area and outside on our terrace.

Do you cater for vegetarians/gluten-free/dietary intolerances?
Yes: we always offer several meat-free dishes on every menu. If you inform us of your dietary requirements when reserving your table, our chefs will endeavour to fully accommodate your needs.

Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes! Our vouchers make an excellent gift, and can be purchased by calling the front of house team on 01223 812 282 or via email: hello@holeinthewallcambridge.com. Our vouchers are available in denominations of £25, and are valid for six months.

Where's the nearest train station to The Hole in the Wall?
Cambridge is the closest station, and has regular services to London. A taxi from the station to our restaurant should take around twenty minutes – and our front of house team will be happy to recommend local firms.

I'd like to hold my wedding/birthday/celebration at The Hole in the Wall: do you cater for events?

Where can I stay nearby?
Though we don't offer accommodation at the Hole in the Wall, there are many beautiful boutique hotels and boltholes available throughout Cambridge to suit all tastes and budgets: we recommend these as our personal favourites.
